Let's just jump right into this. I know most times our friends and family don't mean us any harm, but these questions have to stop. Take a look below, and let us know if we missed any:
When you going to start dating seriously and have a baby?
Let's start at the first part, when men learn how to act and when I'm married with some money. The baby part kills me, like first things first. Kids aren't pets, I need to be prepared not just financially but mentally and everything else.
Why you always going somewhere?
Because I CAN! It's so annoying, let me go places to learn and explore. I don't even understand why this would even bother somebody.
What do you do, is PR like a real job?
This one here is a trip! Actually working in public relations is a lot of hard work and long hours. Creative jobs aren't easy, so please don't downplay our work. Thanks in advance.
When are you going to gain some weight?
LIKE WHAT! This one kills me, like I'm fine with my weight. I'm adult, and my weight reflects that. My family tries this question at every little function.
Am I The Only One, who gets the craziest questions from those who aren't millennials, more specifically, baby boomers. I love and respect my elders just as much as the next person but the difference in generation is proven more and more everyday just based on the questions I get. Here's just a few:
When are you getting married?
I don't just get this question from baby boomers, I also get it from millennials. Whenever my boyfriend decides to get on one knee is when I'll be married. I'm not pressing it, so you shouldn't either. Marriage is a big step to take and we're enjoying being flexible and young. However, when we do get married, we'll send around the link to our gift registry.
Why don't you put on some clothes?
Because I don't wan't to. You only get one body in this lifetime, so I'm going to appreciate it now. I don't ever want to look back on my earlier years and regret not wearing the clothes that I wanted to. I say all of that to say, I do what I want.
When are you going to get a "real" job?
We should be encouraged to pursue entrepreneurship or any other field that isn't directly tied to corporate America. Entrepreneurship is something that we own and we can pass it down to our children's children one day. So, I'm sorry for thinking beyond the nine to five. My goal is to make something, anything, pop before my life really settles down.
